Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes Promotes Warren Jasper to Director of Risk Management

MURFREESBORO – Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes Board (TSVHB) today announced the promotion of Warren A. Jasper to Director of Risk Management. In his new role, he will have the primary responsibility of providing regulatory guidance to the Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes Board as well as supervising the Human Resources Team.

Mr. Jasper has served as the Administrator of the Brigadier General Wendell H. Gilbert Tennessee State Veterans’ Home in Clarksville since the Home’s grand opening in 2015. The Clarksville Home is the newest of the State Veterans’ Homes and has operated consistently at 5-star levels providing world-class skilled nursing care to Tennessee’s veterans during his tenure.

“Warren has proven himself has an excellent leader and has been instrumental in our success in Clarksville, said Ed Harries, TSVH Executive Director. “He is highly qualified for these new responsibilities and I am confident he will continue to be an invaluable member of our leadership team.”

Mr. Jasper is a United States Air Force veteran and licensed attorney, having received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University in 1994 following a 7-year military career. He has practiced law for more than 25 years starting out as an attorney for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville, moving to private practice, and then serving as Senior Counsel at the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office.

Furthermore, during his 13-year tenure at the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Jasper had direct involvement with the Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes (TSVH), and with the TSVH Board as their legal counsel. He is intimately aware of quality assurance initiatives undertaken within each of the veterans’ facilities the Board operates. He has extensive knowledge regarding nursing home operation and management, including high-level knowledge of federal and state standards governing them.

Mr. Jasper will leave the Clarksville Administrator position to become the TSVH Director of Risk Management effective July 1, 2020. Pamela Hayden-Wood, who currently serves in this role, will be retiring after nearly 10 years of service with the Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes Board.

“I am excited to accept this new challenge and look forward to continuing my relationship with the Board, the Executive Director, and with TSVH staff as we work to provide the best skilled nursing care in the nation to Tennessee’s Veterans,” Jasper said.
